2) CAR FINISHING- Make regular quick inspections of your cars surface a habit. Look it over and note its condition. Always keep in mind its recent history and what you anticipate might happen in the future.
3) SCRATCHES- If you see some scratches and your car and than you ask your self why? Because they are the biggest enemy to your car’s finish. And avoiding scratches is the secret to keeping your car looking good, dirt and grime, rubbed in while washing or draying, will act like sandpaper and dull your car’s paint. There is one basic rule whish will guide wherever you touch the surface of your automobile.
4) WAX / PAINT / SEALANT- Always keep good coat of wax or paint sealant on the car. In addition to providing gloss and depth, wax will also protect your car from the elements (including sunlight, bug carcasses bird droppings).
5) SWIRLS-Swirls are those nasty circular lines that show up in bright sunlight and are the main factor in preventing your car from looking "right". They are best thought of as microscopic scratches and are usually the result of poor detailing practices. At America's Auto Detail "avoiding scratches" is rule #1!
There are a number of swirl removal products available. Some are basically polishes that work by dulling the edges of the scratches; this might not remove the scratches entirely but it can help out the situation considerably. Others work as fillers, placing material in the scratch so that they effectively disappear. Waxes and glazes perform a similar function.
